There are probably things you’ve thought about doing for a long time.
A trip you keep postponing.
An idea you haven’t dared to share.
A conversation you’ve been avoiding.
Something you’ve always wanted to learn.
A dream you’ve quietly told yourself is unrealistic.
And maybe the reason you haven’t taken action yet isn’t that you don’t want it badly enough.
The Fear Behind the Hesitation
More often than not, the real reason we hold back is fear. Maybe you’re afraid.
Afraid of failing.
Afraid of looking foolish.
Afraid of what other people might think.
Afraid that the reality won’t live up to the dream.
But here’s the thing about fear: It doesn’t always mean stop. Sometimes, it simply means that this matters to me.
We don’t have to wait until we feel entirely fearless to begin. Courage isn’t the absence of fear. We can be nervous, uncertain, and take the step anyway.
Writing the story before it happens
So this month, I’m booking a different kind of wish. I’m writing about the thing I’ve been hesitating to do as if I’ve already done it.
What did it feel like?
What happened?
What surprised me?
And most importantly…
How does it feel to know I finally tried?
Maybe the point isn’t to know exactly how the story will end.
Maybe it’s to give the story a chance to begin.
What is your next step?
What have you been thinking about doing, but haven’t dared to try yet?
